The art of building your own handbag with Wilbur & Gussie
We live in a world where customisation is key. It isn't enough anymore to have a great "it" bag - it's now all about having a bag exclusive to you. Clients can come into the newly opened shop on New Quebec Street to undertake the rather easy and very rewarding task of putting their own personal stamp on a clutch bag. You start by picking your favorite colour from Wilbur & Gussie's Charlie collection. There are some insanely sumptuous silk colour pops on offer here, ladies and gents. You are then presented with an extensive collection of decorative brooches that will be attached to the closure of your Charlie Bag.
Princesses, celebrities and industry leaders have all favoured the Charlie bag for years, and for good reason. But, you, my friend, will walk a completely different path with your very own original Charlie bag. Sure, the who's who of British society all have a Wilbur & Gussie clutch in their closet, but yours is one of a kind!
Now, some thoughts on how you can use this service. I immediately thought of it as the perfect gift for my female friends - and actually thought such a service will one day come in handy for bridesmaids gifts. Gents, if you're reading this and feel confident enough in knowing your partner's style, I'd say this is a great surprise for a loved on.
For my Charlie Bag, which you see above, I went for a supreme colour pop in both the silk bag itself and the adornment. As I'm American by birth it won't surprise you much to see that I went for the iconic NYC yellow taxi. I absolutely adore this whole service and can't recommend it enough. It takes moments to do - honestly, couldn't be quicker and takes about the same time as if you were just buying a bag with no customization at all. Love this! A serious plus point is the fabulous customer service. The ladies of Wilbur & Gussie truly are like nothing else.

Indie Waves - Haim Inspired Hair
I thought I'd post up this video I made a few weeks back over on my Youtube channel on here as it's a pretty cool video (not to toot my own horn) and I always get questions about my hair and how I actually style it to "look like that". Im actually getting my hair cut and coloured today so it's likle ynot going to look like this for much longer though! Are you ready for the Fried Chicken Waffle Burger?
Since I got into the whole game of reviewing food, I've put some interesting things in my mouth over time. But none so surprising, not to mention calorific, as the Fried Chicken Waffle Burger.
Now, it must be said that Bird Restaurants were discovered the way most are these days - through social media. I found myself flipping through London eating tags and came across this monstrosity of mouthwatering goodness. It called to me like a bright shiny penny. My first attempt at grabbing such a burger ended in disaster. I made my way to Islington to sit down and add another five pounds to my ever growing arse and I was turned away from moment one. It seems Bird has a bit of a different time schedule when it comes to game days in the area - check this before making the journey. They not only open at a later time, they also have a limited menu. You can imagine how annoying this is to discover after making a 30 minute journey to hit a chicken waffle burger. It's embarrassing enough you are making the journey at all.
In the end, we persevered and made our way back for round two - hoping for a full stomach at the end of it all. The first course, some gorgeous chicken wings, was welcomed and devoured in a matter of moments. I have this thing for buffalo chicken wings. It's a sickness really. I'm seeking counseling. But Bird's wings hit the spot - right on, ladies and gents.
For the second course, we tackled the waffle burger. I'll start this by saying that if you are ordering this as a main, perhaps starters aren't a good idea. But, as I was in residence with a review in mind, I wanted to get the full experience. Big mistake. I could eat only one bite of the waffle burger. It is decadence defined. If you want the wow factor for instagram or you're seeking a heart attack on a plate, make Bird your next culinary destination.

REDKEN HIGH RISE VOLUME SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER*
Now that my hair is somewhat on the mend (although I'm actually getting my hair done next week, so HELLO BLEACH I'VE MISSED U BOO) I was in the market for a new shampoo and conditioner. While moisture is all well and good it's way too heavy for the current state of my hair. Pureology Hydrate will forever be the key to keeping my hair in good condition, I just think we should see other people.
I've been using two different product ranges from Redken recently to keep my locks in check - One being Redken Beach Envy which is v. lovely but I think I've firmly decided on loving Redken High Rise Volume a little bit more.
It's kinda hard to describe it, it sort of lifts the roots and gives natural volume without making the hair feel like a bird's nest or chock a block full of product. I'm really not all about that "higher the hair the closer to Jesus" life just a little bit of omph to my flat mop of hair.
High Rise Volume gives the hair a little bit of a boost with a cool girl sheen, think subtle texture and lightweight volume - hair with a bit of body!
If ya wanna get sciencey then it's a volume-boosting blend of filloxane and softening polymers which create lift that lasts. Not so clued up on all that jazz but it sounds fancy and certainly is doing a little something to my hair
Theres a bit of a trend at the moment for more styling based shampoo and conditioners rather than treatment shampoo's and conditioners of old. Im digging it for sure. Go Big or Go Home!

FFG Beauty: Perricone MD Facial at Metropolitan by COMO
The timing, just after fashion week, seemed perfect for stepping into the lush spa at the Metropolitan by COMO hotel, the only spa in London to offer the Perricone MD facials. Of course this establishment is no stranger to the fashion set. I have been to more fashion launches here, in the hotel, than I could possibly count on two hands. There's a reason this contemporary London landmark is a hotbed of activity, yet I had never had the honour of slipping into the spa for a memorable moment of skincare rejuvenation. All that was changing. From the luxurious bathrooms to the extensive spa menu, I suppose I should start by saying that I feel like the spa at The Metropolitan may soon become a second home. The COMO Shambhala Urban Escape offers a listing of treatments that would make any spa lover swoon. From acupuncture to the famous Red Eye Traveller Treatment, this is definitely an address for your little black book, ladies. But, let's talk about what I've experienced and love, rather than speculate about the healing times that lie ahead in this haven for wellness.
I checked in for the Perricone MD Performance Facial on a Friday morning. The facial lasts for 75 minutes and costs £140. Thought I'd put that out there first and foremost to let you guys know I mean business. This is a facial that is both an investment in time and money. However, if you've ever used Perricone products before you will know that this is not at all a waste of money. His products and services are true investments in the beauty of your skin and this facial is no exception. As you would expect, all the products used are Perricone MD. The performance facial is about breathing new life into rather congested and city-fied skin.
